Jane Roes

I will always remember the quick smile and agreeable attitude she had as soon as she recognized me. Our conversations always left me feeling better about myself. A true lady who made the world a better place and left memories to be cherished forever...

I am so very sorry. Janes smile will be in my mind forever. I will never forget how welcoming and kind she was. She will be missed. My heart is with you all.

Allen, Gina, Courtney and Krista: Bob and I miss you all. We are so sad for all of you. I know that Jane is happy to be with our savior. But we are sad she’s not still here. Jane, to me, was a ferocious hugger, an authentic giver and listener. Know that we will miss her and know that we are praying for all of you.

This was a nice celebration for Jane. A lot of kind words for a wonderful lady. I am going to miss looking on her patio to see if she is sitting there. I enjoyed our talks. She always made me feel better. I will miss her smile and humor. I feel so blessed that she came into my life. Prayers for your family.

We were grateful to be able to attend. What a beautiful celebration of Jesus and Jane. We continue to pray for you guys as a family.

It was a beautiful celebration of Janes life tonight. I so wanted to give each of you a hug. Jane was so special to me and our whole family. She was an amazing mentor to me and always was willing to sit down with me when I needed to. She had a tremendous influence on my life as a wife and mother and was a great example of putting Jesus first always. She will be greatly missed. Love to you all.

Thank you for the beautiful memorial service. We were reminded of the hospitality and encouragement Jane and Allen extended to us over the years. You have been a blessing and a model to us. We pray you will know the comfort and presence of God and the reality of his wonderful promises.

What a pleasure it was to know Jane. We sat together in CBS leader’s council for a few years. We shared many laughs and I always speculated that they never assigned her to my core group because we might not behave. Truly, a life well lived and an example for all.

Jane will be missed, but we are rejoicing that she is in the presence of our Mighty God. Allen and family, we pray for healing during this grief. It was such a beautiful memorial to her life and I am sure you feel the support and love for your whole family. Addy & Dan Barton

What a beautiful service celebrating Jane’s life. Her smile and laugh were infectious. Her joy so evident. She genuinely loved and cared for others. She gave great advice and great hugs! I’ll miss her but I know she is with the Lord and I’ll laugh with her again. Thank you for live-streaming her service.

It was a wonderful service and tribute to Jane, while giving the glory to God and Christ. Beautifully done.

Jane was such a beautiful bright light. Her smile and warmth made you feel good the minute you were in her presence. I will always remember how kind she was to me and her incredible example of being a loving Christ follower. Much love and prayers to her family.

Allen and family, You have all been in our hearts and prayers the last month. I can not imagine what it will be like not seeing Jane at the “cool kids tables” in the back of church. She will leave a big hole because she was an amazing woman, we all so respected and loved her dearly. We are grateful for the time your family has had together the last few weeks to mourn together but also share stories and laugh as I can tell from the notes we see. We so love you all! Many hearts are heavy today as we say goodbye to Jane, but we are so grateful to have known her. She has left a lasting impact and legacy for so many people whose lives she touched. We will greatly miss Jane.

I had the bittersweet experience of being in the last home group that Jane and Allen led. It was always so sweet to walk in their home and see Jane perched on her stool with that welcoming smile and an offer of dessert. But then came the announcement that they would no longer be leading the group. I now understand that they had served long and well and deserved some respite. I am looking forward to getting to heaven and seeing Jane perched on her stool offering a smile and maybe some angel food cake.......

Jane has always been such a huge encouragement to me and a wonderful sister in Christ. Through CBS we developed a close friendship and enjoyed studying Scripture together. She had a way of being genuine and straightforward, she would tell it like it is, but always kind and with a ready laugh. I so admire her selfless dedication to CBS, her church, her denomination, her family and her Lord. Her love for all was always evident! I love the whole Roes family and am praying for Allen, Gina, Courtney, Krista and Alex.

Jane lived her faith in everything she did. She was accepting, welcoming, cheerful, loyal and kind to all. She was a great role model for Christian women. I can only imagine how much her family will miss her... I will surely miss her. May God hold the Roes family in the palm of His hand.

Slater & I think the world of the whole Roes family. Jane was and still is such a Jesus loving inspirational woman. Courtney, you made a huge impact on both our children’s lives. Krista, I think you are one of the best Bible study teachers I’ve ever heard. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as we know how much you will miss Jane. But I believe she is dancing and praising Jesus right now and we look forward to seeing her in heaven!

The first time I went to your home after joining your community group, I felt like I was in a warm, accepting place. You had such a warm smile, twinkling eyes and a wonderful sense of humor. You also were a wonderful example of a Christian lady whose light shone bright for everyone to see. I will truly miss you in my life!

We are so sorry to hear this sad news. Jane was such a wonderful person. Each year Chris and I would look forward to seeing and speaking with her again every spring when we would open our condo at the lake. She and Allen always had such great stories. We will miss her smile and know she is looking down at all of us from her special place in Heaven.

This was such a beautiful tribute to your mom. Tom and I first met her 20 years ago when we were small group leaders at Forest Hill and your dad was an elder. Your mom loved my oldest son Chris because he reminded her of Alex. She always had a word of encouragement. One of the most grace-filled expressions I remember came from me mentioning that I didn’t like the Proverbs 31 woman because I could never live up to that ideal. Jane kindly explained that the Proverbs 31 woman’s accomplishments were over a lifetime - we don’t have to do it all at once. That was just the encouragement I needed at a time I felt overwhelmed and I have always cherished it. She truly had a lifetime that modeled for all of us how to be a valiant woman.

I will miss Janes big smile and wonderful hugs. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

I have always been amazed at how comfortable I felt in your home from the first time I was there in the 1983 and 1984 time frame. I never knew anyone could be so welcoming to others like you and Jane. And anytime I did anything with Courtney (All of which was always a pure joy to me), Jane expressed such thankfulness someone might have thought I had done some amazing thing for her. She always expressed great gratitude and treated me with such incredible kindness. She was always speaking words of kindness about me and to me. I will definitely miss knowing I have Jane around in this world to be my advocate. Just as Jesus is my advocate to the Father, Jane and Allen Rose have been an advocate to everyone for me. I pray that you (Allen, Gina, Courtney and Krista) will know the warmth and comfort of the arms of our Heavenly Father wrapped around you whenever you need it.

What a lovely woman was Jane! It all started with Courtney, the best youth group leader on the planet.....it went from there. I will miss her very much as will all who just met her once. Have fun dancing in heaven sweet lady!

Jane was such a delightful person. I always enjoyed talking with her and seeing her smiling face. She was a treasure.

Eventhough your loss is great, we are reminded in 1 Thessalonians 4 that we do not grieve as those who have no hope! One day you will all be together...FOREVER! What a bright light and amazing Christian lady! Was very fortunate to have spent a couple years in Allen & Jane’s bible study group. Will take those lessons and can only hope to inspire others and lead my life the way Jane did
