Last week, we were in Sopron, Hungary for our mission’s Annual Conference. Each year most of our missionaries gather together to connect with each other, worship God together, focus on the “big picture” of what it is we are all called to be about. This was our first of these trips and it was fun but intense.
This year’s annual conference was special as the president of the mission was leaving the mission (what he was called to come to the mission and do has been accomplished, so now its time for a new leader who is to take the mission on its next steps). We had a formal good-bye banquet (which is why we are all dressed up in the picture above). It was a great time.
It was especially grand as we got to see and connect with people we have met through the mission during our time in ministry partner development (i.e. raising our support and getting trained for the field). The above picture is of our Orientation group. Except for one couple who is still raising support (they have had two children since being appointed by the mission which has delayed them raising their support) and a young lady who has decided not to go to the field, we were the last ones to arrive on this side of the pond. So it was great being all together again and comparing what we thought we would be doing on the field and what we are actually doing now that we have gotten hear.
