We have Bats & Visas

No, the “Dark Knight” did not visit us but as we sat relaxing last night (trying to get sleepy enough to fall asleep with jet lag), a bat flew in through an open window. It must have been a sight as Krista was opening windows and I had to magazines up in the air trying to “motivate” the bat to fly outside. I’m glad Krista got the windows and not the video camera.
On a different note, we received our visas today. While we have been legal for living in Germany as we had done all that we could on our part, the government has finally given us permission to work in Germany. This means that I am now allowed to work at the office and at our new offices still under construction. Its also a nice “warm-fuzzy” to have to know that there’s not a question about us be allowed to be here. Now comes the fun part, paying the bill. Since we’ve had a lawyer working on this for a year and half, its going to be big. Luckily, our mission doesn’t think that just those of us affected (there were six of us originally) should carry the whole load as everyone in the area would have had problems. Kind of the idea that those coming after us benefit from our experiences so the lawyer fees are going to be spread out of the next while to all those moving to the area. That’s a big relief to us. Still, these 1 year visas (which we originally thought might be good for longer) are going to cost us over 200 Euros. Oh well, life moves on.
Heading home and looking to the future

As promised, I’ve uploaded my pictures from my time in Boise, ID. Be sure to catch them in the Photo Album
Well, we are prepared to leave the US and return home today. I wish we could have seen all of our friends while we were back but now we have realized just how short 7 weeks really is. But 7 weeks also does feel like a long time since we have not been home. I miss my Germany. I miss my small town of Kandern. I miss walking everywhere (and my body shows it).
Please continue to pray for us – pray as we still need to continue to raise more support but also thank God with us for all those that have helped us minimize our deficit. Pray with us as we try to make sure that with all the opportunities there are in Europe for ministry, that we join those that God would have us be a part of. Pray with us as Alex transitions into 2nd Grade with some old but a lot of new faces. Pray with us that we will be a light for God in a spiritually dark part of the world. Thanks.
