Alex’s Quote of the Day
There is an innocence that one has when they are young. Alex, who is 7 years old now, has that innocence.
This morning while we were getting ready for church, Alex was asking about a letter opener that I have on my desk. Here was the conversation:
Alex: “Where did you get this?” (referring to the letter opener)
Me: “From my Grandfather.”
Alex: “Oh, yeah, the one who died when you were about my age.”
Me: “No, that was my other grandfather. This one died when I was younger.”
Alex: “You had two Grandfathers.”
Me: “Yep, just like you.”
Alex: “I have two grandfathers?!?!”
Me: “Yeah, you know red grandfather and blue grandfather.” (When he was younger, he differentiated his grandpas by the color of their cars)
Alex: “No, I’m too young to have grandfathers. When I get old, I’ll have grandfathers but right now I just have Grandpas!”
They do come out with some classics, don’t they? They think the way we used to before the rest of the world got in the way.
